HEY, WUSSUP EVERYBODY,
I'M NEW TO THE MPC.. I'VE BEEN AROUND IT ONCE IN THE STUDIO IN PHOENIX, AND ONLY USED IT ON 3 SONGS..

I'M GETTING THE MPC 2000XL IN 2 WEEKS..
I'VE NEVER SAMPLED OFF VINYL...OR SAMPLED ANYONE PERIOD..
I WANT TO START SAMPLING, BUT TRUTH IS I DON'T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO GET STARTED..
I'LL BE USING THE MPC OF COARSE TO DO THIS... CAN SOME ONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW EXACTLY IT WORKS... SAMPLING W/ MPC??

THANKS

hook up the outputs of sampling source to the inputs of mpc. then they will start fuking. when they are done with that the sample will be in the mpc.

The basic idea is to record your SOURCE using the MPC. You can hook up a turntable, run a bunch of stuff into a mixer and hook the output of that to the MPC, hook up a mic, etc. Your SOURCE creates a SOUND you use the MPC to CAPTURE.

After you RECORD you can manipulate the sound inside the MPC in a variety of ways. Once you get the sound the way you want it, you use the SEQUENCER part of the MPC to create some sort of musical pattern with your new sounds....

There are numerous videos on YouTube of people creating beats and using the MPC. Check em out!
