Hi there !
I was wondering that i have to set the TC. value (swing) only per Track - can i change the TC. for all tracks at once ? Like the "whole" button in the [mode] + pad11 page?

Cheers

nah i don't think so. i'd actually adviz against doing this, too - if you're truly going for feel, groove and good sounding timing, differences in quantization should be not only per track, but per PAD in the same track!

Yep, of course. The ability to set a TC. value (swing) for every Pad is essential for a "Rhythm"- device. But it would be nice to set several tracks to the same TC. value at once. - just for saving time. Nah, maybe it's on his shedule....

yeah i guess more genre fitting electro stuff utilizes a lot of the same TC stuff, w/ emphasis on other things than timing

but even then, couldn't hurt to try some new things. haha can't blame me for promoting what i like...

JJ cofirmed me to put this option in the next release!
Great! :D

Well, that depends. I mean I saw your stuff and you put a lot of shit on one track, but a lot of people use different tracks for
the hi-hat
the kick
the prekick
thesnare
the secsnare

Atleast that's how I do it.

well, it still stands that if you're going for realism or human groove trans track tc should not be locked to the same number.

i used to do it that way--a drum sound per track. that makes for an absolutely abominably hellish editing process--endlessly flipping between tracks to edit a certain note, more margin for error, more time spent naming, less ability to view notes' time placement in relation to one another...

not to mention it renders the three most powerful editing screens in the jj os useless. ends up taking way more time to do the same thing in my experience as opposed to having it all on one track, instantly available and comparable.

you should give us some help on how to use the midi screen!

sure, what do you want to know? it's a very easy screen, maybe a little intimidating at first but it's actually way more useful than i originally thought. i do 90% of my programming in it now

why don't u just play the drums out yourself instead of using TC?

I just bought my mpc 1000 off of ebay last week, and havent read the entire manual. I didnt know what TC or quantization was before reading this and a similar thread and I feel sooo much better. I thought I aint have no rhythm or something. Its hard getting your drums perfectly set. You can do it but it can be a pain sometimes re-doing them over and over in order to have them dead on.
