Function keys F3 through F6 not working? They do nothing

Hi, my friend and I are using the quickstart manual. We can't seem to make the F3 through F6 function keys work. We just took it out of the box.



For example, say recording sound.

We check the levels, and can reset the level markers no problem.

However, press F6....nothing happens it will not record.


Even say just on the main page, [tr-][tr+][mute][solo] if you press any of these, doing nothing, should something happen? A window? We get nothing.

Are we missing something super basic or is thing FUBAR?

It would be interesting to know which MPC you're using (this goes out not only to you).

But the F-keys should work indeed, even with an empty memory. Did you try using them in other screens, like Load/Save?

Well he is taking it back today, it is definately FUBAR.
