Digital sampling question...

Howdy sir's...

My question(s) was on the digital outs/ins found on the expansion board.
This is based on simply using the mpc and my computer with the sound blaster audigy front drive bay device, since it has s/pdifs.

When i record samples from my mpc to my computer using the outs and ins, it works fine, allowing me to clean up a sample/beat ect on the computer. However, when i go resample digitally back from the computer, the mpc version has a pitch change, obviously much lower than the original. Not only that but some small portion of air comes through as well.

With that, my biggest question is, is it the cable (im using a cheap cable so thats what my bets on) And if it is the cable, can anyone point my out to a high quality yet some what affordable cable built for using s/pdif and other digital recording sources. thanks guy, appreciate it.

It sounds to me that there's some sort of bad connection... do you hear any air in the sample when you play it on the PC before you sample it to the MP?

actually, when i get it on pc and clean it up, it sounds fine...but when i shoot it back via my computers s/pdif out to the mpcs digital in, the pitch changes on me. Ive tryed 2 types of cables though both generally suck compared to real cables...

i just wondered did the real official "s/pdif" cables correct this

check the Sample rate, 48k HZ will chipmunk on a 44.1k hz sampler.

well the sample rate matches when on screen, 44.1 is what i sample and save it in as when cleaned, then i resample it off the pc via digital and when its back on the mpc, its cleaned up but the pitch is always like 15 percent lower, so its pretty dramatic to the ear. Plus i get a little air on the sample as well, which it still sounds better than before clean up, but i expected the digitals to cancel the air or somthing...
