ive had a mpc 1000 for a week now and i dont really like the pads at all, they suck like everyone says,

so i wanted to return it to GC and get a used 2000xl the tan ones, they had 2 of them used for $600 each,

you all think it would be worth it to get the 2000xl cuz the pads are better than the 1000, besides the usb what else is diffrent from the 2 ,

i checked the specs list and everything, but would you all give up a 1000 for a 2000xl thanks for your help this is bugging me out

I would definately make the change.
Haven't used the 1000 myself, but I remember how long it took me to decide whether to buy 2kxl or 1k.I made a big research and took a closer look at the both models.Even the fact, that mpc 1k has faster sample processing (like time stretch or so) didin't win with 2kxl.
2000xl - It is bigger, better organized (space wise),you can get a card reader for it,so no problem with saving.Of course the pads are way better as you figuerd out yourself - and it is probably one of the most important features in this machine!

I say - go with the 2kxl!!

i went from the 1000 to the 2kxl

the biggest downfall is no resampling, at least i don;t think so? the 1k can sample the main output which is great.

i like the 2kxl better as soon as i used it----sound, pads, screen, all improvements over the 1k. People say the 1k is warmer, and the 2k sounds shitty, I like the clear sound of the 2kxl better though.

The 2000XL does Re-sample. The 1000 is a piece of shit! I had that thing for like 2 weeks and sold it and bought a 2000XL and never regret it for a minute. The pads suck and break very easy and it kept giving me errors and locking up and freezin on me.
