I have been looking at mpc3000 auctions and other prices online and have seen the average be about $1400. Do you feel that $1400 is too steep for 3000's? The only one I have found under 1300 had a broken soft key 3.10 rom and worn buttons but i was outbid because I slacked off. All the ebay auctions are pinned at $1400 or more.

Should I wait it out for a better deal? Or do you think this is average/reasonable?

if the condition of the machine is right AND you got the money AND you are willing to pay the price - go for it.

I wouldn't buy it honestly. I bought mine about a year ago for ~1100. But I had to wait for an offer like that for about 1 year... so, if you have another machine to work on and you can wait, wait for a better offer to come... that's def what I would do, because still there are people out there selling their mpc's without knowing what they could get for it...

I just saw a maxed 60II go for $1,100 on the bay

Sp1200's are going for like 1,400

ish is crazy, I think it's a sellers market right now because of tax returns and maybe also because of that Beat Kings DVD making prices rise

I say sit on your cash for a while

Yeah, thats what my tax return is going towards. I am borrowing an mpc2k classic but its only temporary and I would like to cop a 3000. A few on ebay seem to be in pretty nice condition. I'll sit on my cash i guess.

I have been considering the 60, 3000, 2500 and other but I always come back to the 3000. I believe I know most of its idiosyncrasies, somethin got me hooked on it although I havent used one. I think I might lurk around and see if I can find a better price. Im hoping to find somethin around the $1200 mark although I can afford $1400 but would rather not unless the machine is in stellar condition.

Peace

Man, 7 1 4 beats, thats kinda a coincidence because a dude on ebay I was negotiating with just sold a 3000 with zip, scsi, manual in binder, and 25 zips for $1,375. I wonder if that was yours and he made a come up/profit or just coincidence?

Dude was from Irvine, CA.

$1,100 for an mpc, even without zip would be prime for me.

No it wasn't me. I know what guy your talking about if it was a 3000LE with SCSI Zip Drive & USB Zip Drive and disks. It was on Craigslist too. He works at a studio in Lake Forest.

14 isn't bad if everything is in working order, but expect something to break soon. 3k is getting pretty old now.

Thats why im also drooling over an mpc 3000 le, because i believe they were made starting starting in '98? Its a newer piece with the same feel.

I would not overrate that. you could possibly get a "broken" le too. and as far as I can tell from the auctions on the net, dudes that sell their le mostly rise the prices for what you mentioned only. in the end its the same machine...

I'm asking myself why I would pay up to 500 more for the exact same machine. just because of the 1 or to years difference of age? (wohooooooo...that's a european cat speaking english...muahahaha)
