Ok, I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I'm new to this... and I'm trying to figure out the best way to get the most out of my equipment. I'm not musically challenged, or computer challenged... just looking for some advice here.

I have a delta audiophile audio card, but would still like to be able to use my boston acoustics computer speakers (1/8" phono).... as well as the delta card. I want to trigger piano/bass lines from reason/whathaveyou with the axiom, and record/sample beats with the mpc. What's the best way to hook all of this up. I'm ultimately going to run everything into protools.

Please go easy on me, and yes I've read the manuals.

before answering your question - why aint you using your Mbox as an audio card/interface?

I am, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to get sounds in my computer to trigger from the axiom, as well as have drums and hits from mpc.... all going into protools for recording.

the above image is direct from the M-Audio website. not sure which Audiophile you have, but if you go to the M website and find your card, then click Details, on the leftside is a Connectivity link which calls up the image for your particular card.

the best thing would be to sit down and create your own diagram, for each component, listing the MIDi in/outs, Analog and Digital Audio in/outs for each device you own and maybe create a couple of different setups on paper. then imagine what your workflow would be like for each diagram and choose the one you think gives you the best workflow....

note: you are notlimited to only listing your hardware, also add in diagrams for the virtual hookups inside the computer if you need to consider how to route signals between software...

well, right now my axiom is triggering sounds from the mpc.... I want to trigger sounds from my computer (still don't know how to organize and audition them....) but say I want a piano, I want to be able to play the full range of keys (25) on the midi keyboard, and record the sounds either into the mpc, or straight into pro tools. I think the mbox2 is usb/midi adapted, as well as the axiom 25 being the same.
