I wouldn't worry about it. The only time I had a problem was my own fault. But once in a while you'll get a bad product due to manufaturing. That's true with any product.

The main thing to remember is to treat your gear with respect.

Go on youtube, and you see some of those careless users who constantly bash thier pads and hit buttons too hard and spin the data wheel like they got the runs and need to hurry

Take a bit of care, and you will be fine. As for product faults, that is expected.

Not a good idea...forums tend to attract those people who have problems with their hardware, not those who haven't. So you will hardly get a meaningful picture.

yeah, i got friends like that. Eating potato chips then rubbin the pads with greasey fingers. Clickin away like they have fat fingers, and just straight up going ape shit on the wheel.

I dont understand why people do this, they spend 2000 and act like they spent 15 bucks, then wonder why shit dont work.

I havent had any problems with the mpc2500. I have had problems with gear in the past, just manufacture defects.................and problems due to shipping. If anything, id say most problems occur because something happens during shipping or by the warehouse guys. Not because of the manufacturer. Youd be suprised how truck drivers and delivery guys handle boxes. They dont realize whats inside and one little drop can throw something out of wack.

When I got my mpc4000 I couldnt hear any sounds, I was going crazy, thinking it was me and not knowing how to use it. anyways, after going over it for like 4 hours, I finally figured out it wasnt me. I didnt want to return the thing because that would be like a 2 week project. So I opened it up and guess what? A tiny wire connecting the pads to the motherboard was like 1/16th of an inch out of its socket. I clicked it back in and the thing worked perfect. The moral of the story is that during shipping, little things can loosen or pop out. Things like memory sticks, wire connectors, pci boards, drive cables, screws, etc. and these things in some equipment are very delicate and if slightly out of place can really effect the performance of the gear.

This has also happened to me with a computer. I bought a clearance computer from walmart that wouldnt start up. I figured id buy it and try to fix it and if i couldnt, I could just return it (wtf its walmart) anyways, I got it home and the memory had just fallen out and was dangling in the bottom. I paid like 300 for it. I knew the walmart people were too stupid to figure it out and I ended up getting a really really good deal. The moral of the story is that alot of people are too afraid to open up a piece of gear and check out common sense things.....dont be afraid, just be patient, and take advantage of walmarts return policy!

I am always carefull with ebay. Mainly because if you buy something (aside from making sure its legit) you have to make sure that the shipper will pack things correctly. The equipment could be perfect when shipped, but end up scratched or not working when mailed. Moral of the story is if you cant handle getting a defunct piece of equipment, dont do ebay because there are no returns!

Ive also had a problem with my triton studio. When I first got it there was a line in the screen. Anyways, that was covered under manufacture warranty but I had to wait like 1 week. But that was because of delivery (they dilevreed it in just one box/next day) The moral of the story is that next day delivery is not a good idea with big boxes, and make sure everything is double boxed.

i also had some friends over once, and when everyone left I found a knob broken on my mk6. I still dont know who did it..........but I know it wasnt me! My best advice is to not borrow your gear, or let someone use it without you in the room supervising. Actually, I really dont like anyone touching my shit........The moral of the story is to take care of your equipment and make sure everyone else knows how you feel about your equipment and the rules in using your equipment.

Your story remind me a little bit of myself. I cannot stand peope hanging around my gear and leaning on my mpcs or keyboards. It has happened to me many times before and i kind of make it clear nowadays.

A little while back, a friend of mine broke my mixer fader as he managed to get the headphone cable stuck under the fader and pulled it away without looking.

And to speak of keyboards, my friends using them sometimes and they play bass notes and bang the hell out of the keys. It really p*sses me off.

One ov my main rules is take care of your gear and you'll be fine. Also if your gear was boght spankin new then then theres many potential years with your mpc :D

All gear that uses a computer breaks or crashes eventually tho. Bit of a sad fact, but hey, it's only a machine and i guess all gear retires someday lol.

What u waitin 4? Get using ur mpc!!
