I would go with a firewire mixer instead of USB. They can handle more tracks with less latency.Right now I'm looking @ an alesis firewire mixer 16 channel, you can find one on ebay for around 350-400 dollars and the quality is decent.Or you could go all out and get a Mackie onyx w/firewire, the preamps on that mixer are super dope. For recording,a mac everyone knows pro tools but for a PC I'm looking at Sonar which I think is made by cakewalk. We use sonar all the time at the homies house with a tascam fw-1884 digital interface and it works great.

my 2 cents: 2500 is cool a bit more cost effective than the 4000. To my knowledge the major differents outside of memory (4000 is a beast), the 4000 has considerably more efx. I think the biggest difference are the convertors on the 4000, it has better sample rates in short. maybe you know this already and im just being redundant. peace

before you buy anything think about what you are trying to do after the music from the mpc is in computer. :D

because you can use a m-audio or emu which will only run you about $99-200 but if your looking for a DAW solution you have many choices.

Make a budget and let me know what your looking for.

I have worked with different sound cards and mpc's

I can help you before you buy things , then have to sell them because you don't need them.
