Shorted Pads

So I was working on something and this stupid **** is leaning over my shoulder watching and spills her drink on my mpc. I immediately turned it off and flipped it upside to try and stop the liquid from going deeper in. I took it apart and dried it out the best I could. When I turned it back on pad 6 and 15 stopped working, so i'm guessing the liquid shorted out the pads. Anyways I need to get this fixed asap and was wondering if anyone knew any places in LA that can fix MPC 1000 pads because I really can't wait for the time it will take to ship it out and shit it back. Also i'm wondering if I got one of those AKAI MPD midi controller things would I be able to use pad 6 and 15 on the controller or will nothing trigger those pads till they are fixed?

the issue probably isn't "shorted pads"
depending on how much liquid crept down and how well it dried, you may be dealing with 2 things

1 - worst case - the pcb board is fked up from the liquid. these should work after drying though. there is either still liquid in there or something is funky.

2 - while taking apart the mpc, you may have damaged the pads.

describe to me your process of taking it apart. did you fully take it apart, like every single rubber pad off the chasis / detached from the pcb board or what?

as for the mpd - it triggers the mpc via midi so yes it will play the pads that don't work. however, it WONT trigger the mode functions. like if you hit mode and then a pad on the mpd, you will not go into a dff screen
