Just curious. I was just wondering what your credentials were. Sounds like a dope product. Im just wondering how it layed out? Is it software like a plug in? or a list of presets for all different applications. Freelancing sounds like a really good idea. There is a lot of ad agencies and commercial and marketing places around here. I might have to look into sellin 10 at a clip.

I highly encourage you to sell your clips and what ever else you can via your studio. If you don't some one else will. To ad agencies make sure you get paid each time your commercial is aired. Or make sure you sell it high enough so that you don't mind they made a few 100Grand.
I have a feeling you are going to make a nice income if you pay attention to your suroundings. There are always oppertunities.

smoove the lexis are well nice...perfect for all your spacial needs...

a decent multi effects will include verb, delay, chorus, flange, phaser, distortion and then maybe stuff like pitch shifter, ring mod etc etc....

the boss range are well recgonised...

many swear by the old se70 and se 50.....i love my vf-1...its pricey but you get a dedicated guitar/bass/keyboard sections as well as cool stuff like tape echo, multiband compression eqs and some more crazy effects...

the sonic maximiser is secret weapon stuff...you cxan get a software version although i sound they dont compare.....it basically does something magic to the sound which causes the bass end and high end to align..i cant explain it very well but it basically gives you fat lowend and top end sheen (to a degree- it relies on your source).....

good mixer imo is the fx8...although i wish id saved and gone for the fx16...the behringer euroracks are also v cool.....

thanks for the info. im checkin out the se50 now. tell me something....when would i want to look into buying patch bay? it seems like it would be something I would need if i got a lotta rack mounts. is that when i would need one? i won an Alesis quadraverb 20k from ebay for $68.98. im gonna play around with this for a while, but im planning on looking for another effects processor in the future. i know it would be a pain in the ass if I had to keep switching cords in and out the racks. is that when i would look into a patch bay? thanks

yeah, a patch bay is the move. There are different ways to set it up - I use the easiest, inputs on the top level outputs on the bottom. I got this $20 dollar desktop rack thing from Sam Ash, like 20 rack spaces or something, I got the patchbay at the top, works perfect. Neutrik makes a $100 unit that's okay. Important - figure out what inputs and outputs are balanced and what are unbalanced. Balanced connections are maintained using TRS cables. I screwed this one up by getting unbalanced patch cables, had to replace em.

so how do you wire a patch bay up? you can only use patch cables? so i guess i would plug up my Alesis into one of the inputs, then say a boss effects rack in another input, and run a cable from the output to where i wanna use it? and its that easy? im looking at a few on ebay and im this close to buying one. just need to know what i will need with it so i dont get stuck when i get one. thanks!!

A good digital multitracker includes great effects, Cd recording and hardware knobs to turn. Plus if you got a vocalist over at the crib you don`t have to worry about the computer crashing on ya either when ya recording!! If you got the bread check out Roland VS series, Korg, or Tascom recorders. Check out Sound on Sound online dot com for information on a great range of recorders. Software is good if you are already using a PC multitracker or sequencer, but you have to buy the plugin effects extra like if you went with Pro Tools Mbox or Cubase etc.

Check out roguemusic.com. They have a wide section of used sound modules. My personal favorite, and my first suggestion is the Proteus 2000, or PK6 with extra roms. IMO most bang for your synth buck. A fully expanded proteus will have around 1500 sounds and cost in the range of 500-700 dollars. Good Luck.

yea your right about tascam. i actually have a Tascam 488. its an 8 track recorder. its excellent for me. it could definately be better, but for years i was using ALL software. i just recently switched over to hardware. i love it, and the sound is so powerful. but, thanks for the help
