Samples cutting out if use I Note Repeat 1/32(3) - Polyphony

pad 1 has a drum loop, pad 2 has the same drum loop, but is tuned +12 with a high-pass filter and pad 3 is a rhodes loop. All are 2 bars long.
the sequence is 2 bars long.
pad 1 and pad 3 get played at the beginning of every bar.
If I use note repeat at 1/32(3) with pad 2, the sound from pad 3 cuts out just into the second bar!
Must be a Polyphonic issue cos using note repeat is making pad 2 sound play more than 32 sounds at once probably innit?
Am I right?

It would be nice if the operating system didn't allow you overload the polyphony, rather than cut out existing notes. A 'skip note' functionality.

Hold on though.. doesn't polyphony relate to midi messages and not audio, cos if a loop is playing, then you play loads of other samples over it, that loop cuts out before its reached its end!?

Let me guess...you have that Pad 2 set to Poly in the Params page, not to Mono, right? In that case it will of course trigger a lot of instances of the sound with Note Repeat - but you should notice that usually.

Regarding polyphony and cutting out sounds...it depends on how the priorities are set. The older Akai S20 sampler actually has the possibility to set priorities to the single pads, so you can control which one drops out first when the polyphony limit is reached. Now it depends on how it is programmed in the 2500.
