Hi. I linked my mpc3000 up with logic (on mac) before i went to work, took me a couple of hours to figure out how but i got there in the end. Now my pads won't play any sounds when i hit them. They are still working however as a: when i load a sequence in and press play it recognises that the correct sounds have been assigned to the correct pads and b:if i go to program/sounds, 1.Sel pgm, asn snds and press a pad it recognises which note i want to assign.
I am sure this is easy to sort out and have searched the manual/and this forum but as i'm not too sure of what i've done, its hard to search for.
Like i say, i linked up with logic, so was messing with midi and tempo sync and have tried to retrace my footsteps but can't think what i've done.
cheers
dave

Also, if i try to record a quick loop, no sound comes out when i play the pads while recording, when it loops back, it then plays what i've just played on the pads (2 bars ago but couldn't hear when i did it).

did you hook your 3000 audio outs into your audio interface? did you configure your audio interface in Logic?

my 3000 audio (stereo) outs were originaly just linked to my hifi. after synching with logic i put them through an ordinary mixer (technics SH-EX 1200) so i could have 2 channels. my audio interface in logic is m-audio duo (usb) and has been configured and works fine. i tried to put my 3000 through this (before the mixer) but couldn't get it working, so i hooked the duo to go into channel 2 of the mixer.
If i try and hook the 3000 back up to the hifi, and turn all of the midi clock and sync off (and also pull the midi plugs out) and trying to get back to what i think my original settings were. i still have the same problem.
Like i say, its the 1st time i've tried hooking it up with logic so i'm sure i've overlooked something simple.
Don't know if it matters but the midi cable was midi to usb. i've tried taking this out and still have the same problem.
I've also just tried sampling a new sound (in case it was some **** with the zip disk) and the same thing, it won't play the sound when i hit it, yet it will play it back after i recorded.

I've figured out what i've done, for some reason i had turned local off in the midi page.
I've switched it back on and this has solved the problem.......except for 1 pad in pad bank A (not matter which program is loaded in).
I'm sure i can figure this out sooner or later but if someone wants to help me out it'll be appreiciated as i've already wasted hours on this and i've got a pile of records i want to get chopping.

EMFinite, cheers for trying to help.
