my man sparq. i watched ya video on youtube regarding this issue. i can sync one sound on reason with the mp but when i load a second sound on reason, both sounds play when i press play on the mp. have you encountered this problem before?

first my fellow a-town cat... this isnt a "problem". it's how syncing in general is gonna work. you dont sync sounds to the mpc or vice versa... you sync projects, sequences and arrangements.

so if you only want the mpc to trigger one sound, then you can do one of two things:

1) mute everything on the track except the sound you want triggered (or just solo)
2) load a new project with just what you want playing assuming when you say different sound, you mean that it's supposed to be a different song/track altogether.

my fellow atlien. whats good? i appreciate the reply. reading over my first post i see that i kinda made it hard to fully understand where im comin from. in sparq's video, he uses reason as only a sound module. meaning no sequencing was done on reason. all the sequencing was done on the mp. say, for the beat that i first tried using this method, i wanted to lace a bassline using reason. i did that, set the track on the mp with the proper midi/bus channel. using reas as the slave, the bassline was soundin proper. then, i wanted to add some more sounds. i added a another module on reason. without even recording any notes into the mp, when i pressed play, the bass and the other module was playing simultaniously. i hope this kinda gives a clearer understanding of where im comin from.

hey heres a link to the video i copped this idea from.

you've got your midi interface set as master keyboard (which transfers all incoming midi channel to the currently selected module in reason). simply deselect it in the 'MIDI' tab in preferences.

hope this helps.

mr modnar. it did help. sometimes i used the mp as a controller for reason. i still had it set as a controller. i appreciate it

aight... i got the sync workin. with this particular setup.... is there a way to rewire reas into protools usin it solely as a sound module.? i got it rewired, but in that simultanious-matching bpm-sequence to sequence way... i tried to rewire it the way i usually do, but the sounds stopped comin out. i checked the pref in reas and all the things that used to have green checks next to them now have big red x's.

goin out to anyone who knows whatsup.

thank you
