Having scoured the manual for what the problem might be, i have no idea what i'm really looking to change, and hence need to ask you guys.

i make a song, say 4 or 5 sequences long, and when playing back in song mode, or each sample on it's own, everything plays back fine. However, once i convert the song into its own single file, i lose certain tracks. can anyone help me out at all?

appreciated

that's because you have different programs on the same track.

here is how it should be:

SEQ1==> TRACK1==> PGM A==> TRACK2 PGM B
SEQ2==> TRACK1==> PGM A==> TRACK2 PGM B==> TRACK3 PGM C
SEQ3==> TRACK1==> PGM A==> TRACK2 PGM B==> TRACK3 PGM C==>TRACK4 PGM D

and so on.....

once you have it this way, when you convert from song mode to a sequence, everything will be lined up exactly the way you want it.

Yeah, song mode kills alot of people and it's a very easy concept to grab a hold of.

and watch out for mpc freezing in song mode.
happend to me last night, was something like: delete first seq in song, insert same seq same place, then convert, mpc freezed.
ive got os 3.06, dont know if its an issue on later os
