Where do you chop?

I see so many post about using Recycle or Sound Forge or Audition even one cat I talked to chops in his XL first. Does anyone here still chop in there MP? If not what is it that you dont like?

I still chop in the MP. I don't really like to use the computer for anything other then recording.

I chop in my 60. I want that chopping feature that the new 3000 OS has though.

I can chop anywhere, BUT since I usually like to add some processes and/or very subtle effects to my samples BEFORE the mpc so I also go ahead and chop in Sound Forge, it's also faster and can hack up some drums on a break in just a few seconds, leaving me with a little less than 100 chops of drum takes depending on how big the break/riff is.

Stop getting automatically offended when you see gold letters!

MPC 4000... usin the regions and split them or re-catch a sample from a different point... actually both.

i like to chop with adobe .. because there so many tools to use from VST to multitrack ... to enhance my samples

I usually sample into my mpc and chop it that way. For me it's the fastest way. Then after I track it in sometimes I'll add effects and ect.

i usually chop in recycle, but for the first time yesterday, i chopped in the 60 and it was pretty dope..

always chop in the 60, like the fulla above it helps my beats. And i can chop to suit the beat im making, and go thru and make little changes to make the riddim tight.

chop in protools. I will usually make the chops too early at the begining and too late at the end so I can have a little leway once it's in the mpc.

I do all my chops in a S3000xl, I save the samples to floppy disc and load in my mpc3000.

I use Recycle for chopping in bulk. When I do that, no MPC is in sight. When the MPC is on, then I chop internally. No Recycle or Mac in sight! :wink:
