I need and advice from u guys

iight .. im getting the Mpc 2500 and the Motif es7 in a few weeks... how do i make a beat using those 2? ..meaning wat software shuld i use? do i need a software ? ... how do i plug it to da computer , do i need a mixer? anything else i shuld kno? i'll apreciate ur help

ur gonna need a midi cable.. u dont need ur computer to make the beat.. but if u wanna import the beat into the computer get an audio interface and protools or somethin

Firstly, audio: if you want to hear the motif and the MPC together ie. through the same headphones you goin to need a mixer and to have the audio cables from both going into the mixer so you can have the outs goin to your monitors or headphones. In terms of using them together there are a few options through midi, both have sequencers so its up to yourself wich u want to use or even use both if you want, id suggest using the MPC tho, its a great sequncer. U could use software to record your beats if you want (unless u want to use hardware). Look into something like cubase or protools and you goin to need some kind of sound card to record into the computer. Hope that helps.

The mpc dosnt have speakers. You need to buy some.

Start with one piece of kit ,there is no need to buy and the motif and the MPC at the same time, especially not if you are only starting out master one piece and then move on to the next stage.

actually you dont need a mixer to accomplish this at all....all you do is plug mpcs stereo outs to motif's inputs and thats it. now you can hear both the mpc and the motif thru motif's headphone jack or monitors connected to motif's outputs

Id be dope if the mpcs had a thru input!

the 1k does have an input through. im sure the 2500 does too, but not sure. and i really dont know about the older ones.

Yes, or a phono preamp.

or you can get a turntable with a line level output.

that would eliminate needing a mixer.

alot of turntables have this feature these days.

Just plug it into the MPC and go.

Part of the advantage of having a mixer is that you can condition the sound with the Mixer's EQ before the sound gets to the MPC. Allowing you more control of the sound.

but i don't have a mixer and do just fine.

eventually i will need one, but not now.
