D, you'll never actually know unless you or someone that has taken a look inside tells you, AND they're absolutely honest about it. Until then, it's just a thought in the wind homie.

my guesss is that it's the pads of the mpc500.
That thing, if it had an onboard sampler and sequencer (like any MPC) would be a killer! Unfortunately it is only a master keyboard. Any idea bout the possible price range?

The pads are MPC500 pads. I know this for a fact.
