what is the best mpc for rap/Rnb/funk music?

hello everyone, I am interested in purchasing an MPC. i have previously owned a korg electribe smk11, korg electribe amk11. When i got into rap type beat, the korgs didnt fufill the mission. I recently sold them after having them for 3 years. I am highly interested in purchasing an mpc, however ive heard several bad things about them. that is why i came to you guys.

So basicly my question is:

what is the best mpc to purchase for mainly rap/RnB style beats?

fl studios is all you will ever NEED. It can produce any type of music you want like the mpc (probably) and quicker. if you want the mpc drumpad get the mpd-24 and a soundcard or cpu that allow instant midi transfer.

but if u want an mpc i say the 1000 or 2000xl - xl is relatively cheaper then the 1000.

But im a newb so i say FL studios. I switch to hardware becuz i wont have cpu access for beat making in a few months.

so software is cheap and sometime FREE, with the leftover money go buy your mom something nice:)

yea i thought about that, but my new laptop i just bought for 3000 was stolen so i only have a pentium 2 desktop runing windows 98se and its barely reliable. today i had to reboot 20 times within the hour. i wanna stick with hardware so i dont have to waste money on another computer. plus i also want to do some live things.

$3000? sucks! maybe thats a hint from a higer poewer to get a mpc3000? lol. goodluck.

yea well when you live in trenton, thats an everyday thing. oh well so be it.

come to think of it why not a work station? if i had enough loot i would most def cop one.

like a korg triton? ive had my fair share of errors with korg. theyre good, but durabiliy and reliability sucks. i loaded a sample from a 8mb smart media card(smart media is one of their several flaws) and it formatted my whole factory database. theres no reset button to restore it either like a partitioned hard disc. and there electribes are built so if you drop it like 4 inches the top will bust off because the sides are plastic.

if the triton is anywhere near similar to the triton i think ill just buy an mpc.

I can only say, from the operating system side, the Electribe SX I have is more stable than the new MPCs.

The MPCs are all very similar, there's no model suited especially for a certain style of music.

They're all designed to accomplish generally the same thing.. not specific to any genre. I mean all your doing is loading your own samples into it, so whatever genre you're producing depends on what you do with your samples. I run a 2000xl for hip hop/rnb stuff and that is doing me just great! They're also pretty inexpensive right now for some reason. Anyways, thats what I use along with a seperate synth hooked up through midi and it works for me.

but i would say get a more updated mpc. (1000, 2500 or 4000) storage options are better and somewhat better features than say the 60, 2000, and (XL).

haha sorry i was up till 4am this moring when i typed that. i meant if the triton is anything like the electribe. lol

yea, but i hear alot about mpc1000 being best so i might just go with that.

I Co-Sign EmFinite, but to add to the words he gave I would go with the most affortable out of the lastest mpc's he named.

Not to go to far off-topic but EMF did you sell your fresh painted 60 and get a 2000 that fast?!?!
