when input quantise is activated does it quantize the notes your playing in realtime (effectivly keeping you from having bad timing live) or does it just quantise whats its recording after you play the note, like in software sequencers?

That would be nice...but no, it only plays the corrected notes after recording, for example after the sequence wraps around and plays again.

Think about it...if you generally play your notes too late, the sequencer would have to shift them earlier. But it would need to know beforehand that you are going to play a note a few ticks behind say the 3/8th, and play it even before that. It would have to look into the future for that.

The latest OS has the "temporal time warp quantize function"....allowing you to actually hear and sell your beat up to two months before even purchasing your MPC...the drawback is that if you don't then record the thing, the universe as we know it ceases to exist.......
