Hi all I am looking into getting one of these because I love Ensoniq and want the sound and effects that these are known for but I need a few questions answered first. BTW I will be using an MPD or equivalent to trigger the ASR-10 Rack.
1)The Digital I/O on the ASR-10 Rack; Is it the bomb or what?
2)Using keygroups with stereo samples so they cut each other off; This is possible on both machines right?(with parameter pad pan change L-64 or something so I've read)
3)Can I sequence other gear with these?(I heard you can't with the X but maybe the 10?)
Lastly any input about either of these machines would be appreciated. I know that the ASR-10 Rack goes for avg. $650 on eBay and the X for avg. $350 which is a factor right now but I do like the looks of the 10(especially the digital I/O).
PS - I also know about the X's sequencer so no need to go into that. I have been using a Mirage since '91 to sequence and am convinced it is the most magical/mythical bombastic sequencer on the planet(considering it is so random and 'human') so I'm not worried about the X, trust me! Peace.
