anyone know how to input a midi sequence?

sup people... ive gotten as far as sampling into a track...and adding a drum pattern track to it, in a sequence... but a problem im having is recording any midi/audio sound into it... is it possible to do so in real time??? i called akai and they said that i have to record it first then some how lay it out... didnt make any sence to me.... any suggestions???

what are you trying to record midi/audio into a track?

where are your sounds and what sounds are you trying to use to make the sequence?

are you trying to load a midi file into the sequencer?

im tryin to record audio... my sounds are in my keyboard... i want to record it in real time into a track... is it possible? if not how do i do it?

i have the midi off my keyboard connecting into the mpc...also the audio L and R into the mpc...

So now go to Record Button, it's on the numeric pad (number 1) and select Analog 1-2 as you input and select monitor to on so you can hear what you recording. Then just hit record and play. You then have a choice to save it to a program.

i get wha your sayin... whats the point of setting the track to inst and out1 to midi then?

so you can control your keyboard with your mpc, midi is not audio only data, if you want the audio from your keyboard in you mpc you'll have to record it and use it as a sample.....

read up on some basic midi knowledge, it will help you out a whole lot

man dont wanna sound rude, but before placin yer hands on a 4k u have to learn AT LEAST the basics of production, and that includes knowin the difference between midi and audio.
you are askin very basic questions, i suggest you to visit a friend with experience and grab some knowledge from him.
can be easier and less confusin than wanderin thru forums where people speaks techie language.

If you want your MPC to trigger your external gear. Then you use the Sequence to record and trigger your external gear.


Your MPC and external Gear will need to go into an Audio Mixer, so that it can
be summed up into a 2 Track finished recording with the MPC and external gear on.

If you want to actually have all the Sounds being played by the MPC. Then you will need to actually still do the first item above, which is to sequence it from the MPC, but then you will have to then go and Record it into the MPC as Audio Sample, Create a Program, Assign that Program to Part in the Multi, and then Mute the original Sequence to the external Gear and create a new sequence that will trigger your new MPC program that you just recorded...
