Zip drives aren't working with my MPC2000

My zip drive recently broke so I bought a used one on Ebay and hooked it up to my mpc 2k. The MPC recognizes the drive but when I go to load a sequence it says "loading" and nothing ever gets loaded. I figured something might be wrong with the drive so I bought another one but it is doing the exact same thing. Anyone know what the issue might be?
(Both Zip drives work with my MAC so they seem fine.)

maybe you have to format the disks or something? i dont know i get more and more confused with these things. some seem to work then others seem to just get stuck....does the id on the back match whats on the load screen?

No and yes. All my discs have been used before to make music on the 2k and yes it is the correct ID...

Just hope nothing went wrong with the scsi components inside your mpc when the old drive broke :(

PS

Check all the scsi id settings on the zip & the scsi cable just to be sure it's not that.

How would reccomend checking the scsi cable? If I want to buy a new one can I get one at Compusa or something similar?
