Acting up again

well my 2k is doing the same shyt again...

im in the middle of making a beat, then the screen turns black and the MPC reboots by its self...

if i knew MPCs do that i would of just gotten FL and have my PC do the random rebooting and save me 100s of $$$$...

damn man, and you have no idea what it is?

Does it act completly normal before hand ... Is there any speical screen it gets frozen on?

nope screen just blanks out and then it just reboots... i opened it cleaned it..and its still talking shyt....

guess its time to get a new mpc or workstation...

nah i never that problem either.. something isnt seated properly or something is going bad...

i did, i cleaned it, i checked all the screws made sure they are all tight, i cleaned the ram slot....

if i dont touch it and let it sit there while its on, it will stay on, but when i start working with it...

the screen starts getting harder and harder to readn and then is just reboots and doesn't upload the OS.

maby there is a loose contact somewhere, pick up the mpc and move it around, hit random buttons, wiggle the power cord, ect. and see what makes it act up.

if im not mkaing music, when i load up sounds or when im recording then its starts talking shyt.

You should take out your memory and see what happens. The 2K has 2MB of onboard memory so you'll be good without the expansions to test at least. If it functions normally then the mem expansions are probably the issue.

ive seen this happen on both an s3200xl and a 2000xl - it was the RAM in both instances, they work fine until you make the machine start accesing the RAM and its flips out. Try taking the ram out like suggested above, and just using the stock onboard 2mb. see if it flips.

took out the ram...

now it wont load at all...

it gets stock on the OS loading screen.

i did that... dowloaded a a new OS, put it on a new floppy.. claen the inside.. took out the ram...

nope still reboots on me after around 40secs to 1min
