was/is any1 confused by multiple folders on the cf card....

any one confused by how folders on the cf card have folderss of thhe same name inside of them, and also in those folders, folders with the ssame name as shiit outside? do you guys understand or does this ssound redundant? if it does it'ss becausse the design of that part was redundant. iss the easiest was to get around that just using the usb to delete everything and rename stuff?

That's all there because the CF card has a full DOS/Windows FAT file system on it. I use CFs for more than just MPC, I carry all kinds of data between work and home, they go in my camera and my iPaq too, all these devices sharing the same "space" on the cards
But the MPC1000 only seems to read one level down from root, e.g. X:\Autoload, don't expect it to do anything with X:\Autoload\Loops\98bpm\funk\smooth\1\ ...!

i cut my autoload folder and internal folder to my desktop, and then started having problems loading and saving, does this sound right stereoroid ? when i put them back on the card so far its seem fine, i think you need to have these folders there

Btw, what method do u guys recommend of saving stuff and loading. i too have found mulitply samples copies between root, and autoload, it just hard to organize sometimes.

I discovered that (at least on mine) there's a maximum size to the root directory, oddly enough. iirc, it was around 16Mb on my 160Mb card... This was also an issue on the the CF card it came with... maybe this is the same issue, dunno...

No, that should not be a problem, it's just a directory, many folks here removed those folders straight away. Try using the desktop disk checker on the CF (CHKDSK on Windows, dunno the Mac equivalent), check the card's file system is straight. Or: back up all the card data to your desktop, format the card in the MPC1000, and restore the data to the card.
