I have a Mpc 2500 with the latest Os that i am trying to setup to a fantom x7 keyboard. I have the midi in's and out's straight...Let's say I create the first midi track on the MPC which is a grand piano sound from the fantom. I have my basic sound which is the piano one track 1( Here is where the problem comes) As I go to track 2 on the mpc I look for a new sound on the X7 lets say a bass… If I play the first track on the mpc to see how it sounds when it plays instead of the grand piano its now a bass sound.

Im stuck……….[/b]

I'll try to help, if I have this right... Make sure that the Fantom is in multi mode (press mixer then F2 to see the 16 parts) Then you can set up 16 different sounds on 16 different channels. Hope that helps...

1st off thx for your help....
I think I got it.....I did a factory reset on my phantom. It put all that someone made back. It's working now. But when I turn the wheel on the keyboard it changes the setting on the mpc..Like its controlling it.

also when saving what i did will need to save it on the phantom as well inorder to bring it up later?

thx again

You have to set your midi settings to local controll only I believe. This should be in system (Hit Menu then scroll down to system and hit enter then scroll down to MIDI or MIDI settings. I believe this should take care of it. And yes you will need to save on the fantom X... Just save a new program (or whatever the multi patch is called) The user section should have a lot of duplicates from the unerasable ones so dont worry about losing anything. I don't know why anyone would ever use a preset multi-patch anyways... Hope that helps, and good luck.
