I'm buying my own house within a few moths and i need some money.
I own a MPC 60 mark 1 without upgrade and an MPC3000 both in perfect condition. (Exept for the display of the 60 witch is being replaced next week thanx to Elmacaco's great link)
Witch one should i sell? I already have a buyer for the 3000 and he gives me 1800$.
Should i take his cash and upgrade my 60 with the 3.10 and SCSI?
I like them both sooo much. I like my drums more on my 60 but the interface is doper on the 3000...
This is such a tuff one :(
Please give me your opinion.

with the upgrade you get the 3000 interface on the 60. Not the best of both worlds cuz you don't get mad sampling time. It comes down to what you use most and which you can't live without.

You'd get more cash for the 3000 tho, and if the 60 can keep you satisfied without filters and such it seems like a good choice.

If your 3000 is an LE, I'd keep that.

Tough choice man, I feel for you.

best thing is hide one for 2 or 3 days in a closet, then hide the other one. See how it makes you feel. It should be clear then.

I did not decided yet. My 3000 is not the LE.
I also have the S950. I use it most of the time with my SP1200 witch i do not ever sell. Never!

Like I said, the 3000 interface is covered by the 60 OS. The only thing that isn't is sample time, filters and effects, and vga out. Do the closet thing man. Mint 60 mk I's are hard to find.

I will order the 3.10 software first. I still have some time on my hands...
Then i will do the closet thing...

I sold my 60 and kept my 3000 and s950, now thats all i use. I have no regrets, the 60 was my first MPC and i was just holding on to it cause its a classic. The sample time and filters on the 3K kill the 60.

Yeah but the 60's armrest kills the 3000's!!!!

Probably the most used feature on my mpc!

So is the 3000 upgradeable to 32 megs like the 2000(xl)? Does the 60 or 3000 have any more FX than just filters? Can you get an FX card for any of these?

You can really hook up a monitor to the 3000? How does it show up on the monitor? Is it exactly like what's on the screen but blown up?

Yes, the 3k is upgradable to 32 megs. No, you cant put in extra fx boards.. Who needs a 15" monitor?! :?

The toughest choice ever IMO. I sold my first 60 to get my first 3000.
One thing I always regretted. When I finally got my 60 back I swore it would never, I mean EVER leave again.
