I stressed out cuz i've been tryin to get my Korg X50 into multi-mode and sequence everything into the mpc. I have everything hooked up correct. I make a drum track on the mpc, and go to the korg for strings or whatever and lay that down. then i try to change the program in korg for keys i.e. and it changes the already recorded strings to keys. The mpc is set to midi, pgm off, and a1.....when i go to the second track i go to a2 but it dosnt let me record what i want from the korg. YES i have read the manual for an hour and a half last night and i kept reffering to it going through it over and over but it isnt doing what i want it to do????? if anyone can help me id apperciate it. Is anyone using the korg x50 with a MPC?

Make sure the x-50 also has the program changes off as well as changing/ switching to a different channel when selecting more than one instrument.

im having this problem to, I use multi mode...you are right by changing the channels in the mpc for each track...track 1 a1 on mpc ...track 1 strings on x50, track 2 a2 on mpc ... x50 track 2 piano...so and and so forth, my problem is that i hear the damn sounds from the other tracks blended with the new program im trying to record...even when i track mute them...but when i record and play it back it recorded solo like it should, but this messes up the sound or rythym i was trying to capture...does anyone know how to correct that.

i take a production class at city college an the teach said any time u wanna use a workstation as a module just assign ur instruments to tracks in the keyboards sequencer and assign the corresponding midi tracks on ur mpc/daw and ur in there like swimwear. i gave up on modules for a while because trying to utilize the multitimbral functions is always a pain in the ass similar to ur situation but after that piece of advice ima try this with my roland xp-50 i hope its that simple. also i think u have to turn remote mode off if ur usin it as the controller as well iono. o yeah and i dunno if the korg x-50 has a sequencer but ol boy said if it doesnt have a seq then ur assigning to PART 1-16 instead of TRACK 1-16

yeah thanks, I understand tha first part you was writing about and thats what i do, assigning instruments to tracks and everything...my problem is that when im recording a new track/new instrument...so for instance im now on track 4...when i play the keys i can hear the sound from 1,2,3...but when i play it back its just the solo sound from track 4, i dont want to hear the other sounds play the midi from the other tracks while im recording a new sequence...i mean sometimes i let the other tracks play and that is fine, but it plays the same or new melody im trying to record with all the sounds...that fcvks me up big time

do you guys have your setup as only the mpc and keyboard connected stand-alone, or are you connected to a computer running a DAW?? i'd like to see this problem worked out, for both of you guys' difficulties and my knowledge as well. (tip: why not head over to the Twekheadz forums and ask them whats up?? they seem to have their stuff downpacked when it comes to these types of issues)
