Na, theres nothin wrong with the MPCs I'm not sayin that at all. I agree that if you already got the MP mastered, why change now?? Havin to learn a whole new interface with a machine that does mostly the same things would be a hassle. I've just seen people bash the MV because they are so partial to the MPC that they know so well, while staying completely oblivious to what the MVs capabilities are. I can tell you one thing though, starting out from scratch I really and truly believe a newbie to the production world would be more satisfied with the Mv, as the ease-of-use is exceptional. Especially with the monitor add-on they've got goin. Both machines deserve respect, and I'll stand as living proff that MVNation and MPC-Forums and co-exist in peace

On a side-note, remember that most of the people you see who defend a inanimate object "to-death" are likely trying to reassure themselves that they're on the right path or that they're really suffering from some kind of inferiority complex -- kind of an attempt to feel elite or compensated for lack of talent/esteemed with their purchase. It's not hard to see that the MV is a nice piece of kit, even if you're a happy MP user. The MPs are definitely a good way to go, but so are the MVs. If it's a circuit-bent NES and you make ill ish with it, then I'd like to see that. What I don't want to see is some kid on youtube showing off his MP, to fit into a "social conform", but all that ever comes out are badly chopped soul samples under one of those mass produced Dre kits from soundlikeeveryoneelse.com.

Respect for not getting an MP simply because it's "the thing to do".

We can all co-exist, without doubt, and honestly most of us do. It's just the gear huggers who lash out the most, and thus seem to be the majority's voice. Of course it isn't, but the people who realize it's a subjective thing are just confident enough to not have to verbally re-verify themselves. If it works for you, it's probably the best tool for you. I'd like to see a new generation do with the MV what was done with the 808, Prophet, SP, ASR, MP and so on....even though I'm young enough to be a part of this group. It's good to have options, and even better to see people really use those options, and best of all to see what will happen to the music.

I always thought MPC was a recipe for greatness. But it aint. You can be mad wack on the MP and super ill on the Roland.
