Whats up peoples,

I just bought a classic from my friend which was jus sitting in his room gathering mad moisture, grit and dust. The deal was, hes selling it to me for $500 but I have to get it fixed, then i'll just show him the receipt on how much i spent on repairs then he'll jus subtract that from the original price he was selling it to me. If it's impossible to fix it then I wont buy it.
He told me the disk and other basic buttons aren't working.
I tried it, loaded the 1.72 OS, it booted loaded a disk (it's mad stuck up, so i needed to press really hard for it to load)
I loaded some sounds, it seems that the sound is has mad static and is quite weak, i needed to boost the volume to the fullest just to hear a bit of the sond, it was struggling.
Everything was working fine, (but I still have to scrutinize the poor machine to check what else I should look out for)
I'm heading to my other friend who is a n electrician, i'm sure he can sort this problem out.
Actually my question is kinda stupid (i peeped the manual and did a search on it), but i'll ask it anyway.
Is there a track mute section on the 2000 simillar to the xl? I'm an Xl user, and I want to explore the classic.
Thanks:)

Maybe its just the way *I* think, but this machine already has too many problems for you to even bother.

Peace,

Sounds like it needs its drive replaced and maybe its ram reseted or replaced. I would actually have to look at it to give a full explanation of its issue. Dont give him more than 200 bucks for it.

Now to answer your other question the mpc2000 DOES have the ability to do Track Mutes BUT the CATCH is you CANNOT access the Track Mute screen while in Record or Overdub mode. Only when the sequencer is playing or not playing. So basically you CANT record track mutes but if you wanted to you could use the Track Mute live when tracking to your Daw. If you need to know how to accss the Track Mute Screen just let me know.

Yes..I think.
http://cgi.ebay.com/AKAI-MPC2000-MPC-2000-32-meg-AKAI-DEALER_W0QQitemZ140124743624QQihZ004QQcategoryZ38069QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem.That's the same pic that was up when I bought mine, but mine didn't look like that on the outside.Didn't lie about the 32megs though did have that. Not a big problem had to fix some buttons, the screen, pads, top cover still needs some work.
