@people with midi muting problems: turn oneshotsamples from immediate to through in the mode pad10 other page. than all external midi devices mute correctly - but with the downside that long samples can`t be stopped immediate.

BEAT01, and the update would be BEAT01A. Another change to the project would be BEAT01B. It's not that hard. As for overwriting files, it's a bug, obviously, but there's a simple workaround for it.

Same here, when I put the Sample on IMMEDIATE STOP the midi info leaks to my external synths when they are muted. (NOT FUNNY)

MIDI mute not muting was reason #2 why I switched from Akai OS, and I stopped at reason 2 because I wanted to make music.

I don't want to rave on about JJ OS, as much as I respect the programmer's work. JJ OS demonstrates that failings like the midi mute bug are fixable, but just not um, fixed.

While I won't go into any details, many of the issues I read about in this thread have been talked about to death. The solutions are in the MPCs manual as well as quite a few threads here that have been written over the past year. While I do have the JJ OS loaded on my MPC to mess around with the added functions, I have used the Akai OS 1.22 extensively and don't have the roadblocks some of you report here for reasons stated above.

Anyway, it's good to see that Akai hasn't left the operating system completely up to JJ, who has yet to produce a bug free OS. If I have time later, I will certainly load up the latest Akai OS.

only bug i found so far is the note repeat getting stuck on random pads when using my proteus 2500,this might just be something i need to send too tech support to have fixed?

Did you try this with any other synths and get similar results?

OK, I'm prepared to think this through. I'm trying to get a handle on what step causes the disk corruption - and possibilities are deleting files/folders, or overwriting files. I know from testing that overwriting a folder with entire memory is likely to cause a problem. Is it then alright to delete an old folder (by Akai OS, not via USB)?

I think the problem is overwriting existing files. And it's absolutely fine to delete older files and folders after you've written new ones. I haven't had a problem since.
