Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

What am I doing wrong?

I have an m-audio axiom 49 midi controller connected to my mini moog virtual synth via the motu 5x5 midi interface. When I press a key on the keyboard it plays the sounds coming from the minimoog v keyboard on my computer like it is supposed to do. But it also triggers the drum samples that's already loaded into my mpc at the same time. So I hear both the V-synth sound and the mpc's drum sounds play each time I press a key on the controller. Even when I record the midi data from the mini moog into my mpc it also records the drum samples already in the mpc at the same time.

CONNECTION:

AXIOM 49: midi out to mpc midi in A

MPC 2000xl: midi out A to midi interface midi in 1

You have your keyboard and mpc playing on the same midi channel.Change it.
Every pad - sound on the mpc has it's note number, which is equivalent to the note on your keyboard.

So i just change it in the mpc to channel 2a etc... for the mini moog sounds?

They have to be on diferent channels, that's right. Play with it for a while and you will find the right connection.

I went through every midi channel 1a - 16a and on ch. 1a it played both the mini moog v sounds and the mpc drum samples at the same time, and on channels 2a-16a when I pressed the controller keys it only played the drum samples and didn't even trigger the mini moog v sounds?

On the mini moog v has the midi channel option and it allows you to send midi data to ALL or pick each channel individually 1-16. I tried both ways and stil it triggered both the mpc and synth sounds at the same time, or it only triggered the mpc sounds and not the mini moog sounds?

Oh yeah I also forgot to add that when I can record and play the mini moog v sounds from my mpc pads via midi, and it plays the synth sounds without triggering the drum samples in the mpc, that's cool but I want to play moog sounds with the keys.

The moog sounds can be accessed on the pads, but should also to be able to be played on the keys.So you can record either using the pad or keys to trigger the sounds.
