Here a formula for setting rhythm loops.

Math

Convert the loop to a musical value by loop lentgh.

Multiply sampling rate x the length or the rhythm unit

The rhythm unit is equal to 60 secs / BPM

As follow 60secs/120bpm=.5 rhythm unit of one quarter note.

Sampling rate of 44100 kHz x.5rhythm unit =12500 loop length

Go to sample edit page set the loop end to 12500 samples and loop end to length. Now that you have a quarter note loop within a 2bar phrase all you have to do is adjust the loop start with the slider holding down the active button and the loop with move along the phrase. Now make sure the zoom window goes all the way in so that your movement large. Now it won`t snap to a grid like Ableton so you have to work by sight locating the bass hits and reading the last placement of the loop end. It`s fun like on live to do it live.

If you want to set longer loops divide by 2 for half and whole. If you want to set shorter loops multiply by 2 for 8th then 16th notes.

Remember alot of the software is based on hardware . Software is more graphic whereas hardware is more about the numbers.

Nope it some sampling basics that you get from working with basic old school rack samplers as all samplers pretty much work the same. S3000 on up.

Great info, thanks! I sometimes just loop a portion of a sample and use a Q-link to alter the pitch. Really simple stuff though, but I can get some decent reslults. Might have try adjusting the sample start point now.

I guess one of the things we can't do is morph between the filters.

there can be a work-around:
create a program and a copy of it.
on the first one set up the filters as you want them, on the second one in a different way.
now assign a q-link to generate a cc message.
now go in program 1 and assign that cc to control the AMP in a positive way
go in program 2 and assign the same cc to control the AMP in a negative way.

tricky but might work, imma try it out.

Tilt Velocity means Reverse velocity which is the harder you hit the note the quiter it becomes.

Now extend on that make two programs with your filter Envelopes as you like layer the two programs over the same keyrange. One program with regular velocity and the other set to reverse velocity. Go to key page highlight the Keygroup name or number I forget which but it should open when you hit the window button and you with see X-Fade settings for programs turn it on and set it up for the curve you want. You can even set them up for note on triggers and note off triggers to get real wild if you wish.

Yeah I think it is possible for sure.
