hate to do it

i thought reason was cool for about a day. now i am sick of it. i feel cheap using it. the good thing about it with protools is that you can rewire it and have some really sweet templates set up. so for getting ideas out quick, its a real cool tool. but for real tho, reason to me is more like a toy. i use it on my laptop when i travel with the mpd16 and its alright, but i love to sample. if you dont like sampling, hook it up. its super easy to use, for real. it shouldnt take you long at all to get used to it. but you can still sample and put it in reason. the best part about reason itself is that nnxt sampler. sh*ts deep for real. i would put that sampler up against most other software samplers anyday. sell 1 mpc, keep the other, you'll thank us later. plus you can still use the mpc as your midi controller to get full effect of those bangin @ss pads we all love so much. if you have a keyboard midi controller, you can use that too. just make sure to go get as many reason refills you can and stay away from the factory soundbanks.

i think im gonna stay with the mpc. But i do have a question.

Im willin to make trades, either the 2000 or the 1000 for a decent keyboard. I mean, this might be askin to much but a 1000 for a triton le. I mean, my 1000 looks brand new, never had any problems.

I would like to trade something for a roland rs-70 or and rs-50.

i think i just need the keyboard sounds.(basically all of the strings and guitars)

If all you want is the roland sounds, cop a XV series module. The 5080 is mad expensive, but the 5050 i think is only like 700 bones and its got all the same sounds (plus some Fantom sounds) just with a smaller display plus no sample importing.

yeah but i need the keys. Id rather just get the keys and the sounds together instead of buying a soundmodule and then buying a 200 dollar controller.

why don't you sell the 2000xl or 1000 and connect the mpc midi wise to your mac/pc? just make sure that your latency is low.
That's what i'm gonna do when i figure out how everything works in combination...
You can also make your stuff in reason (except for drums) sample them into your mpc, and layer drums under that! (for the MPCfeeling)

one thing is, i defintely need keys. It mgiht sound like im going to be doing commercial shit, but im really not. I just need a bigger sound bank.

I have a G4, and Live along with the MPC. I would keep one MPC in the closet until you catch the fire again. However hardware is easier to works with a idea fast and it crashes less than software. And you really don`t have to be limited to beat Cd that other cats will have out the box. I think that your beat was fine without the vocal stabs. Check out some books like Sequencer Secrets and What`s a Sequencer and you may realize that you have one of the greatest sequencers in the world today. Reason, FL. Live. Logic and others are great sequencers too.

speaking of sequencers, think about how a lot of software programs have mpc emulation in their sequencers. pt, logic, reason, and others all have groove quantization, similar to what the mpc does with swing. keep that in mind. you have something that others are trying to mimic.

yeah

i started to weed out the scribble that i dont care too much for. but it doesnt bother me. im at about 80% scribble right now. probably stop washing off around 20%, but over a long period of time.
