Hi All,

first of all I love JJ OS ... I use my MPC now for Gigs, practise, home recording ... very useful extensions to the normal OS.
But all of a sudden (appears with 4.44) the USB acces to my MAC does not work anymore.
I press USB , it says shortly "Wait..." and then ... nothing, no MPC Hard Drive in my Finder. Also with memory card no luck.
Anyone the same Problem?

Thanks,
Andreas

Yes i have the same problem with OS4.69 when connectiing the MPC and Mac by USB. The MPC 1000 icon doesn't appear at all on my Mac's desktop... What can be done?

There has never been such a problem on any JJ OS versions I tested (and I think I had em all) on my Windows based PC. This might be a specific MAC bug. You should maybe report this to him!

Do you have any other USB mass storage drives that you can check against the MPC to see if they have the same problem?

Yes, and none have this problem, it's only the MPC with the JJ OS (it works fine with previous OS).

But there's hope: i've experienced something weird, by changing the CF to another one, suddenly the USB connection worked and the icon did appear on the Mac's desktop...

Hi Danero,
Does your USB connection work with other USB devices (mp3 players, cameras,...)?
For the USB connection, proceed as follow on your MPC:
- press Mode then Pad3
- press F3 or F4 ("USB")
- connect the computer and MPC (status "Connected")
- press F6 i think ("Mount")
Normally the MPC should indicate "Wait..." and then the USB device symbol should appear on your computer desktop.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Samulen! I will give that a shot and let you know.

the USB was working now I cannot access USB for the Cards or the Hard Drive... cannot even format them

not good...

Must be something in the MPC2500... I've hooked it up to the Mac OSX 10.6.2 and my WinXP box and still no go. I cannot seem to activate USB... cannot format the drives either.

Any ideas?

I was enjoying JJ0S for the 3 hours I played with it... then this certainly sours my joy!

Ok off to Superstore, got some groceries for the week and a cheap $7 USB card reader that will read CF... because I didn't put the
MPC2500 - Operating System [v1.24] from Akai on any of the three CF's here :) What could go wrong?

Good news. The Akai restored my USB connectivity to the PC.

Didn't have time to find out yesterday but today I was able to connect my Akai MPC2500 to the Mac via usb with the Akai OS... I'm backing up the 1.6Gb's of data and will then attempt my JJOSXL installation again. I would hope the Mac and the 2500 then learn to play well together.

:)

...is the error because it's a 160GB HD?
