WTF Pads suddenly dead???

Check this out. Im in the middle of recording into the machine and then out of nowhere the sound fizzles out and the pads are dead, sound & navigation wise. Tried a factory reset but that did nothing.

Is there anything else I could try before I call up Numark? The things barely 3 months old for f**ks sake.

Sounds like you have more than a hardware issue. Have you tried re-installing the latest operating system?

I havent got a card reader, the only way I can access the CF card is through the 2500.

1. Your MPC should have cam with the OS on the CF card. Try re-installing the OS on the card

or

Connect your MPC via USB to your PC. Download the latest Akai OS ( http://www.akaipro.com/supportos.php#MPC2500 ) to your computer and transfer it to the CF card of your MPC. Then install the new OS.

But if the pads dont work, how am I supposed to get to LOAD?

Your pads don't work at all..meaning you can't get to the USB menu and install the OS on your CF card?

Do you have the original CF card with the OS installed? If you have this card inserted in your MPC, holding down the window key while powering the MPC on should re-install the OS.

If you have the original OS on the CF card and hold down the window key while powering up, your MPC go to an OS update screen..IF the OS is actually on the card.

Yeah ive already tried that, but it doesnt work. the bin file is recognized and it goes through the updating process as normal.

The version on the CF is 1.22.

I see. To clear things up....right now, does anything work on your MPC?

Also, did you purchase it new with a warranty?

Yeah everything else is working, its just the pads.

It was a store purchase w/ 1yr warranty.

can you hook up a keyboard (piano) with midi and then access the pads? I've never tried doing mode and then a key on the piano??? Good luck... -Jesse
