Alright
I have the MPC60 linked up with the keyboard as IN and the s950 as midi A and the triton as midi B
I am questioning if you can turn the mpc's internal sounds off whilst in midi mode for external devices. I am somewhat confused as when i change it from drum to midi it shuts the external midi off!

i have soft thru selected. and its distracting when i hit the pads and both the kit plus the piano off the triton plays.

yo gmix,

please do tell how you resolved your dilemma as i too seem to have this problem now. my mpc60 triggers it's internal sounds and the module when set to midi A-D. it's driving me crazy. what did you do? thanks.

was up. right on the main screen
what you need to do is select it to midi rather than drum and connect a keyboard to midi in, that will sort it as long as you then select which midi out
any more probs hit me back :D

thanks for responding G,

but i already tried selecting midi over drum part and changing midi channels from midi A (1-16) to midi D (1-16) in the main screen. that was the first thing i did.

for example,

when i select trk 1 as a drum part and record the mp's internal drum sounds as a performance, then switch to trk 2 and select midi 1A and off, during recording performance i still hear the drum sounds when playing a bass line on trk 2. either way i really thank you for responding back.

gmix,

thanks for your contribution. it finally worked out. :D at first i couldn't make sense of what the manual read. :x after practically memorizing the text, later on it finally hit me. :P

for those of you passing through and looking for the same answers, here's what i was not doing and had totally left out:

on the main screen (which gmix had mention before) down to the middle right, there's the "type" section that only gives you the "drum" or "midi" option. i never bothered changing that only the midi ch and midi out (A-D). that was it.

i have the mk I with all the new updates(marion scsi, full ram, os3.10) i love the sound of this beast. :D it triggers my s950, a roland jv1080, an ASRXPRO, and a KORG X5 keyboard. my only challenge now is to learn where to insert and save prg changes, MSB, LSB so that my saved and loaded sequences will play back with all the correct external patches from the modules. 8) know what i mean? i do this already no problem with my 4k. it's super easy and that's the mp i started on. i believe the inserting a midi msg or event is in the "step edit" mode where you hit F2 <insert>.
