JJ seems to be able to make some nice tweaks... I wonder if it would be possible for him to create a simple way to keygroup samples? Has anyone ever asked this of JJ and if so what was his reply?

um... the mpc doesn't have a keyboard...

but can't you just use 16 levels and accomplish something similar to what you're looking for?

um..no and I never said that the mpc had a keyboard. I was referring to keygroups. Please don't respond to something if your not 100% u know what your talking about, and 16 levels is something more based on tune, where as Keygroups like in my old 4000 we're a different way of grouping multi-samples and tuning from there.Good luck!

Now back to the question..

I for one believe it to be possible since JJ has the code and has somewhat turned a regular mpc software program (Akai's 2500 os) into a genius effort which is now known to us as the (JJOS) with so many more options and ease of use--more practical in a 2007 machine..I look at the Mv which has something just like the 4k where you can make a keyboard out of any sample and the 4k which can do the keygroups, with some positive effort maybe we could request this if enough users ask eh? So anybody with me on this... How is JJ about asking for requests? Has he ever answered anyone's requests? Maybe I'm dreaming....
I just submitted this request..maybe more will follow :]

Not sure what keygroup is but sure sounds good to me. The more the better. (my first post, my 2cents). Thank you very much. :D

i make "padgroups" often using the jj os. it's not as automatic a process as it is in Reason's NNXT but it's still considerably fast.

try using mode pad 11 and small uses of the "whole" range to assign a sample to a couple consecutive pads, then tune them accordingly. then move on to the next.

a little hostile, are we?

i have an s950 so i know what keygroups are. they're used to map samples across a range of keys on a keyboard.

the mpc does not have a keyboard, but you can accomplish something similar by assigning your samples to pads, and using the 16 levels of tuning on each pad individually as i suggested earlier, or even by assigning the same samples to multiple pads and adjusting their tuning as Antonym suggested (without having to use 16 levels).

Good news I got an e-mail back from the JJ camp so hopefully it'll be a go.Please send your ideas for keygroups on the 2500 or 1000 to JJ.I imagine it will be similar to the way the Akai Mpc 4000 uses them as that was my only reference to give to him,but knowing how JJ does things I'm sure it will be better.

Mike Feedback cool glad you know what keygroups are and maybe you can now help join me to push for these to get on the 2500 :] send JJ another e-mail and let's let him know we'd love this on the 2500 + 1000

Anything to make this a better workhorse I'm 4 it.

Antonym.. yes pad 11 the sh.. I use it often...

Here's the reply from the e-mail..

"Thank you for the detailed explanation.
When telling the programmer, the programmer understood the keygroups.
However, it was told to the present OS that the addition of the function was difficult.
It was said that it was under examination to make another new OS.
A programmer wants to expect making new OS.

Murai
end of message.

Now that's customer support!. New OS with Keygroups .wow! Thank you JJ !
