Im going to simplify it.... one step at a time
I want it so that i can press 'play start' on the mpc and it will do it for cubase too. If i record the mpc, i want to record the sequences in cubase not the mpc... same goes for All these machines, i want to record in midi on cubase...not on the individual modules.
at the moment im kinda there. but when i press record in midi, it plays but it wont record it. there may be an issue because when i press record in an audio track...it wont show up as receiving a signal in the track, but when recording it works.?! im still staying positive! it does the same thing for midi, but doesnt record anything. im doing something simple wrong i hope!
i just want some feedback to tell me that this is a possible and the best thing to do.
Recording Equipment is
Cubase se3
Mbox 2
What i am aiming for is quite simple.
I would like to play
Akai mpc 2500
Roland mc 505
roland rs 50 keyboard
and record the sequences in individual tracks in cubase. i guess i would be using midi for this? what type of setup should i go for? I am thinking about making the mpc the master.
when i record the above modules into cubase, do i need to run an 'audio' track as well as a 'midi' track? or does the midi track simply store the data and play back through the modules channel in the mixer?
i have read somethings like 'midi device scripts' do i need a script for each of these machines in order for this to work?
Overall, im excited because i have been using all of these machines individually for quite sometime and can not wait for the time to come when i can hit record in cubase and playback the recordings from ALL of these machines in sync.
a change IS gonna come
