ATC-1 Tone Cameleon - This Analog Synth Rocks!!!!

I finally fired this up and it really have some serious sounds in it. I am going to purchase the other sound cartridges and the manual . Does anyone else use this synth or other equipment from Studio Electronics? I would like to feedback and tips/tricks. Thanks

the filter cards for the atc are really good
love the sound of the atc (might get me one of those)

im a fan with a tb and sem cart, you should also check out the updates and upgrades....yeah, atcs are the shiznit in bassland

Yeah, it does make some major basslines. Do you know if the ARP 2600 cartridge sounds good? I have read reviews of the original synth and it is highly talked about. I was thinking of getting this and the SEM along with the Manual.

having owned one with all 4 carts, i would agree that the oberheim and 303 filters would be more of a priority than the arp....I never really got what the arp did? i mean the 303 is crazy....run drums through that, then run away....the oberheim filter has a phat low end and band pass, the moog is creamy and funky.....nothing about the arp stuck in my mind

I can't do it. It makes basslines I have had dreams about.

ATC-1 is a sick little machine... I have the Mini and SEM filters and would
probably be picking up the ARP filter as I already have one of the best
303 Emulations, though I keep wanting to possibly trade up to the
ATC-X to get the Ringmod and Distortion...

Wow thanks much. What I am going to do now to get the bass into my MPC is too resample off my Mackie into the MPC and then write down(aka: name the sample with the tempo and bars) the tempo and played the synth at when I created the sound. I makes wonderful sub-bass as well, you can layer like an 808 drum with another hit from the ATC-1 and make some really hard hitting bass.

the arp2600 is a dope machine, make no mistake cuz thats top notch discrete analog. I agree that its not the bass machine anyone might be looking for, also understand that its not a moog clone but a moog ladder filter clone on a discrete template. If you have some sense about electronics you can build an interface where you could clone other filters and insert them..or design your own, point is that besides the filter cart is a beast of a monosynth ( definitly with the new mods and updates ). i used this initialy for tech live sets with an mpc and its loud as ****, in any case i hope your mixer has a pad lol

Well, they were putting MOTM modular filters into the Omega series.

There's probably no practical reason it couldn't be done for the ATC series other then nobody with the right knowledge have done it... There's
some nice MOTM filters out there, if somebody wants my money...

Thank you for the feedback. With your comment I am going to get the 2600 cart, manual and OS upgrade. I guess they must upgrade the OS through a cartridge also.

The OS upgrade is essential without ATC-1 OS 2.3 if you have a remote editor, you can't save changes that were done remotely until OS 2.3...
