Saving beats is frustrating!!!!My Wish to AKAI

Whatz good yall 4 yall that dont kno i got the mpc 2000 classic....at first when i didnt have the iomega zip i would make a beat and then not save it...but now that i have one i usually save my sequences and songs and programs(with no sounds) on my floppy than save my sounds on my zip...but even be4 that i gotta name all the sounds that i used which is like up to 12 sounds at a time....that takes maybe 5 minutes....everything is cool 4 a little while...so next time i wanna hear my beat i let my mp recognize my zip and i leave it sitting for maybe 5 minutes to warm it up....im bout to load my beats when all of a sudden one of my sounds which was working be4 suddenly is corrupted....the mp freezes and says wait so i just turn it off mad that i just wasted my time doin al that work and now i cant even load the song...AKAI if u see this post please give us a more reliable way to save and load our beats....Some of us dont have the time to load or beats 5 and 6 times becuz suddenly one just one of our sounds dont wana load...PLEASE help us.....

Your names shouldn't really be more than 8 letters long.

Try that out and see what happens.

I'm not trying to put you on a wild goose chanse, but have you tried to save your programs and sounds together on the same Zip disk? That may be an issue. The MPC needs to find the sounds that match the program. Try a test and see if that works for you.

man at first i ws saving my sequences programs and songs on a floppy then loading the sounds from a zip one by one i guess that was it..but still its frustratin as hell!!!

Man, it's simple. Try to save all your data (APS, ALL and SNDs) on the zip and if it'll act the same, than it's probably something with your zip drive or with the config of it.
I have the same configuration and have none problems like these.

As i read your last post i think you probably don't save with the option "Save all your song and sequences (ALL) and save your program with "all programs and sounds" (APS&SNDs)

its not workin no matta wat i do..it saves and loads good one day the next day go to load and it says error...

Got the most up to date OS?

Another thought: Have you tried each of the available SCSI channels for the Zip to operate on?

And if you're doing what everybody has suggested, it's probably something wrong with either the Zip drive or the MPC.

Do you have another Zip or external SCSI hard drive around to test it out? That will let you know which unit is the problem.

Do that test before you send it in for service.
