sample speet/file management question

on the XL, is it possible to sample something thats sped up then play the sample back at a slower speed. i want to do this to save on file size and load time.. does anyone know how i can achieve this?

Sample a 33 record at 45 rpm.

Go to TRIM, PARAMS and set the TUNE to -50 (I think -50 takes it back to standard pitch).

back in the day I use to sample from my tape player to the sp12 and to save time I would click the record button on the other deck and play the tape at high speed......then I would de tune it to get to the speed I wanted.

On the mpc2kxl before I maxed out the memory I use to do the same thing and then detune like tutor said by like -50 and it was ohhhhh sooooo coooolllllll

It's the old school way of squeezing extra sample time out of a machine that needs more memory.
