I may be asking a ridiculously dumb question, but I can't figure this out on my own, so I'm just gonna ask anyways.

Whenever I try to get that double kick drum sound by hitting my pads one after the other very quickly, the mpc just combines them as one sound, or either puts them in spots I did not intend for them to be in at all. I don't quantize* any of my sounds or samples, but it seems like my mpc is doing it for me. I'll hit the pad, and it will put the sound I just recorded in a completely different spot than I intended. Basically whenever I try to play something fast or repeatadly (such as a high tempo hi-hat or the double kick drum) it comes out completely different than I originally played it. I don't really understand why this is happening, but it's really limmiting my drum sequencing as well as sampling, so all advice would be appreciated.

*I've only had my mpc for like a month, and I never really took the time to quantize or even read up about it, so my understanding of quantizing may be completely wrong.

So is there something I can do about this, or is this just something really stupid I'm doing.
All advice is appreciated, sorry for the long post.

you need to turn off quantize (or T.C. as it's called on the MPC 1000, stands for time correct).
