MPC 1000 to FL Studio7

I got an mpc1000 and tryin to hook it up to my cpu with fl studio and be able to sequence in the mpc. I have a midi cable with the in/out/thru cords hooked to it.

my man got it set up in this video but he's using hardware. I got a midi keyboard and fl. Is it possible that I can hook it up the same way even though in using a cpu.

my favorite thing to do with the mpc and fl you dont even need a midi cable.

i dont know about fl7, i use fl5, but on there under the 'channels' menu there's a channel called 'FPC.'
so what i do is add one of those and make mock ups of my mpc programs.
then i go ahead and program whatever i'm doing on the mpc, when i finish up something, i save a copy as a midi file instead of the mpc SEQ format. then i transfer the midi file to the computer with the usb. then you load up the midi file in the FPC channel and you got your mpc sequences inside the computer.
this doesn't work for anything that is mpc specific, like 16 pads and q-link stuff.
for the 16 pads stuff, its pretty easy to just reprogram, bc you can copy the events off the midi track and load it into a separate sampler channel. even though the 16 pads pitch info isnt included in the file, the rhythm of the hits will transfer in the midi data. so once you transfer the midi for 16 pads sequence to another sampler channel, you just have to go into the piano roll and change the pitch to fix the sequence.
that's kind of a drag for instruments and stuff, but for drums its the quickest, cleanest way to get something inside the computer.
