Mixing sounds into one set of headphones.

Alright so i connected my mpc1000 to a keyboard with general midi via midi. But to hear both parts of a sequence(the parts on the mpcs and the parts on the keyboard) i need to use two sets of headphones (one for the MPC and one for the keybaord). Does anyone know how to get both parts through the same headphones via the MPC? Did what i wrote even make sense?

you can buy a cheap little mixer. (cheap meaning it will sound like ish). Or a Y connector...or maybe run the keyboards outs to the MPCs in.

midi has nothing to do with sounds. you need to mix the outputs.

use the input thru, like you were recording.

midi signal does not carry sound. RTFM

well, that's different than getting boths sounds into the same headphones, isnt it?

im not any kind of music/gear/technology snob at all, but im just continually astounded at how little effort people put in to research and learn how to use their equipment. this isnt really advanced recording techniques, man. you need a mixer, which will mix the sounds together. good luck.

what type of keyboard do you have?

does alphamale usually go outta his way to get on ppls nuts?

if you have a korg triton or one of those high end boards with an audio input you could route the mpc through there. That is what i do
