Auto chromatic assigning samples

I'm trying to take a 2 bar sample and auto chromatic it. It works but the tempo changes for each new note. Is there a way I can get it to change pitch without changing tempo. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

what your trying to do is called timestrech and if your using a 2000 classic no u cant do it

In one function, no, those are 2 different functions.

Timestretch is what you looking for, stretch time without affecting pitch (not in 2k classic, only xl).

Autochromatic by itself will not do what you are talking about.

could i copy the same 2 bar sample to all 16 pads and then change the pitch on each of them? that would probably do what i'm looking for wouldn't it? By the way thanks for clarifying lampdog

actually that doesn't work either. when i change the tuning it still changes the tempo. i guess i'll just have to change the tuning and then use time stretch

youll have to make 16 copys of the sound
then assign each copy to a pad. change the pitch, then time stretch them all backto the same lenght

thats a lot of work. that would take hours. i'll have to nix that idea. i've already moved on. thanks a lot for the input guys.

that wont take as long as you thing i would.I cant even imagine why you would do that to a 2 bar loop, not knocking yo just wondering what you need that for.
