Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Can some one please help. I have a Motif, MPC, Reason setup. How do you play the sounds from reason and other vsts on the Motif to record(sequence) into the MPC. I have no problem with playing my internal Motif sounds, I want to access vitrual plugins on my computer with usb. Thanks, Chef

thats whats up I'm doing the same with a fusion, mpc, FL6 setup. I think you have to have both motif and mpc connected via midi into reason. The reason 3.0 demo wouldn't even detect my fusion. Turn midi clock on (shift-9) on the mpc.. experiment

its all about the midi channels. you could even play the riff with the motif. then just change the midi channel on that track in the mpc to match the channel on your pc's instrument. it will stop playing the instr. in the motif and start playing it from the pc.

Never really messed with a Motif, but I've found the MP, Reason and Roland JV to be cool too. I guess it should work the same way...

I use both of the MP's midi (A&B) channels. A out controls Reason, or any other propram, and the B channels control the sound module. This gives you 16 channels each between your sound mod and software. Then you'll have no problem using the MPC's sequencer for programing.
