Well that does it. A new age of beatmaking for me. This looks awsome!
MPC1000 + JJOS 2.0 + Motif ES Rack = Unstopable!

When will this be released?

I paid it just a month ago an haven't used the 1000 since then. A pitty I did not wait, but we in europe have luck with the current euro/dollar rate.

Oops I did not read good. It's an upgrade you have to pay for. So it's not like paying twice.

judging from what it said on the website, it doesn't matter. to use the jj os 2 you have to first have an unlocked jj 1 installed.

therefore, you pay twice no matter what.

the total cost is 69 dollars.

edit: whoops, didn't see page 4 -- already answered

yeah i'm definitely psyched to see non destructive chopping added!!

and i'm really hoping JJ set it up so that if you hit window over the chop column in GPE, it will allow you to adjust the start/end points, while also hitting a pad selects that pad to edit (kinda like when you hit window over the pad column in GPE). this would kill the need to jump in and out of trim screen to clean up chops...

damn, i can't wait for this update...

by the way, judging from the screenshots it also looks like programs may be set to the correct chromatic midi note values by default

I'm guessing this going by the shot which shows an unused program with pad A02 selected, note 36, C 1

damn this is awesome! $39 is a steal for this. think of all the free upgrades we got with the original JJ OS. i'm sure we'll get tons of free upgrades with this new OS as well. i've never known of any software developer offering so many upgrades for such a long period of time for free! JJ gotta eat!

and he bypassed the code limit!!!! that's incredible! i had a feeling it could be done but i bet it wasn't easy. this alone opens up a ton of opportunities for new features. i wonder how much total space he has to work with now?

the mpc 1000 is a piece of hardware that has been improved & upgraded almost entirely by the user community. while akai sits on their lazy asses, ripping people off & letting their products stagnate, users & independent developers like JJ come in and make the machine 100 times better than it was to start with. good job!

at very least jj has another 100 kb to fill. i think it's more though, as i understood it before, it's a LOT more but it depends on whether we're using both the original os location space and the new, or just one or the other.

yeah, it all depends on whether we can use both of those memory locations together or not. if we can, that would give him 1832k total to work with, more than doubling the possible os space. that would be impressive!

there are some gaps in his map (1000k-1500k, 2500k-5500k), i wonder what is in there?

and if he could wipe out that internal programs & samples area for os space... wow!

i hope you can still zoom into the grid view, it was small enough in the full view anyway.

no doubt. that would be the best option anyway, to have both in one.

you should ask JJ if he can use both of those memory spaces together or not, so we'll know how hard we'll have to beg for new features.

forget pong, now we'll be able to play Halo on our MPC !
