Question for mpc 2000xl users- bars, sqeuences etc-

All mpc 2000xl users,when you make ur beats,how many sequences do u do to make up a bit? when u first start making ur beat do u just start with 2 bars, or do u start with 8 bars/16 bars etc? any tips would be great

It depends on the mother sample you're gonna use. Most of the times, I start with 4 bar loops and construct the song from there. Sometimes I had done 8 bar loops and 16 bars but it's quite difficult cause if you make a mistake, then you'll have to record way too many notes again.
