Yep. if you don't know anyone with an MPC, I'd advide you to goto a store and check one out. Buy yourself a turntable and a decent synthesizer also.. actually not a synth if your new to music.. shoot for a used keyboard/workstation. Korg trinity's are decent and cheap. Used MPC's are cheap (especially the MPC1000's) and turntables are a dime a dozen. If you don't plan on Dj'ing, one turntable is enough. Kev Brown uses a portable Numark turntable to sample with. I got mine for $40 used. Hit a few resale shops and grab some records and you'll be all set.

I have a MPC 2500 and other hardware stuff but I hesitate to use MPC like main sequencer or continue with ABLETON.

It's a little bit difficult when you go from software to hardware.
Sorry for my stupid question but ...

Given that I've no answer, I follow my thought and I'll use only my MPC 2500 like main sequencer.

I use mpc2500 sequence/song features, but it's a bit tricky compared to Ableton live or any other software.
With external software you can SEE your music and move patterns at a glance; with mpc you need a very clear style and have in your mind the structure of the song. It's also difficult when you reopen a song after a while to undertsand it's structure..
The lack of a strong synchronization protocol (MIDI CLOCK/MIDI TIME CODE are a bit weak compared to SMPTE or ADAT) pushes me to write my music in MPC then export each track to PRO TOOLS or other software then finalize the song outside the MPC..
Just my style, others makes different..

personally for electro/hiphop/techno I prefer the mpc2500 for sequencing particularly in real time

for other styles you might need the extra precision and features of a daw
